Zoya Farooqui, a modern NRI who travels to Bhopal searching for her father, where she falls for the traditional, stern businessman Asad Ahmed Khan.
Zoya is unhappy after she learns that her sister has fixed up her wedding without her consent. Meanwhile, Rashid's nervous daughter Nikhat is eager to meet her prospective husband.
Ayaan and Asad fight against Zoya's to-be fiancé Akram's goons. Asad gets stabbed and is admitted to a hospital. Asad’s father Rashid visits him in the hospital after 17 years.
Asad doesn't respond positively to Rashid's concern as he is unhappy with Rashid's second marriage. Asad flinches and leaves the hospital with his mother Dilshad.
Razia fills doubts in Shireen's mind that Rashid is trying to see his first wife Dilshad under the pretext of meeting Asad. Ayaan is unhappy with Rashid's submissiveness to Gaffur.

Asad deletes a voicemail from Rashid, in which he seeks Dilshad's forgiveness. Anwar and Zeenat contemplate how risky it is to let Zoya stay and find the truth about her past.
Ayaan is angered by the fairness creams that Nikhat's groom's family has sent. He is advised by Razia and Shireen to control his anger. Zoya mistakenly settles in Asad's bedroom.
Asad is surprised when he finds Zoya in his bedroom. Asad makes Dilshad promise that she will move on from her past life. Rashid awaits Dilshad's call.
An unattended call made by Ayaan to Asad is received by Rashid, and he finds Dilshad on the line. Zoya chases Ayaan on a bike to teach him a lesson after he litters in the market.
Asad is concerned that Zoya's disrespectful conduct will influence Najma. But Dilshad asks Asad to be more tolerant. Zoya asks Najma to identify a building from a half-burnt photo.
Imraan's mother gets upset to see the price tag still intact on their return gifts. Gaffur lectures Rashid to set right his son Ayaan's conduct.
Asad, Zoya and Ayaan discuss their preferences for their potential partner. Dilshad runs into Rashid at the shrine, to which she has come to pray on their 31st wedding anniversary.
Zoya's effort to make her happy delights Dilshad. Rashid lies to Shireen about being at the office. Just then, Imraan's mom comes to exchange the tux offered by Rashid's kin.
A bubbly Zoya confronts Asad on his many objections regarding her and her stay. Haseena reads the name of Asad Ahmed Khan on the bill while trying to get the tux exchanged.

Asad approaches Zoya furiously and asks her to fix his phone. He breaks it into pieces in a fit of anger. Razia sees Rashid trying to call Dilshad.
Razia grabs Rashid's phone and makes Shireen note down the last called number. Zoya falls in Asad's arms after they both wish the worst for each other under the shooting stars.
Ayaan finally confesses taking monetary help from Asad to buy gifts. Zoya calls Rashid and asks him to come to the same market that she is visiting with Dilshad.
Haseena asks her brother Feroze to secretly find out what's the relationship between Asad and Ayaan. Zoya shares with Dilshad that she remembers her long-lost mother on seeing her.
Senior cop Feroze stops Ayaan and learns that his new bike is registered in Asad's name. Asad sees Najma and Zoya on TV in the evening at a cricket podium. He gets angry.
Razia proposes to Rashid and Shireen that Ayaan and Humeira get married. Asad scolds Najma after she lies about going to the cricket match, and suggests that Zoya leave the house.
Asad fights against goons to bring Zoya back home. When Ayaan goes to buy the items for Nikhat's engagement ritual, the cops stop him for illegal driving.
Asad warns Feroze against holding Ayaan unlawfully without a warrant. Just as Haseena claims that she wants to break off the engagement, Ayaan reaches home.
Razia decides to use Asad to stop Rashid and Dilshad from meeting each other. Zoya unintentionally puts Asad's important CD and the cake mixture in it into the microwave.
Shireen is shocked and hurt to see Rashid holding Dilshad's hand. Razia passes very unpleasant comments to Dilshad which Asad counter attacks and takes Dilshad back home.
Zoya realises her blunder when she cuts the cake and finds a CD. Rashid gets furious at Razia for publicising his personal affairs. Razia responds suitably.
Shireen vainly tries to sway Rashid towards her and distract him from Dilshad. Humeira has a romantic online chat with a college mate, assuming it is Ayaan on the other side.
Dilshad and Najma stop Akram and Zoya from seeing each other in front of Asad. Haseena avoids talking about what was bugging her when she gets the keys to a luxury car from Razia.
Asad clarifies that he is not breaking Elena's heart, but only a deal. Humeira realises that her date is with a college friend and not Ayaan. She tries to run away from him.
Asad confronts Zoya when he learns that she had walked out of her wedding with Akram. Razia insists on getting Nikhat married to Imraan despite Haseena's unending greediness.
Akram comes with his goons to meet Zoya and declares that he will complete their wedding forcibly. Humeira is saved by Ayaan from her harasser, who forces himself upon Humeira.
Zoya is drugged and trapped by Akram's family so that she can be forcibly married to him. Razia tries to convince Rashid that Ayaan and Humeira are a perfect couple.
Asad prevents Zoya from being forcibly married to Akram. He fights all the goons and takes Zoya back home. Everyone surprises Shireen with a birthday party.
Rashid falls unconscious. Later, Dilshad tells him that she has forgiven him for everything. Asad tries his best to help Zoya even after she lectures him.
Rashid continues to play along and celebrates Shireen's birthday when he sees a present in his pocket placed by Ayaan for Shireen. Zoya misses listening to Asad's apology.
Zoya tries to sneak into Asad's room at night in the dark to find her earrings. Asad assumes that the silhouette is that of Ayaan's and hence talks to it and hugs it. He then realises that it is Zoya. Zoya declares that she will tell everyone about Asad's secret. Asad does not want his mom to know that he meets his step-brothers and step-sisters despite his mother telling him not to meet with members of Rashid's family. Haseena tips off Feroze after Ayaan leaves the engagement ring at her house.
Zoya blackmails Asad and makes him fulfil her demands. Ayaan is abducted by Feroze and rescued by Asad at the cost of Haseena knowing about their relationship.
Zoya increasingly suspects that Asad is a secret agent. Humeira is made to promise by a bruised Ayaan that she would not tell anyone that he is hurt.
Ayaan comes to Asad secretly at night to show him Feroz's gun. Zoya sees the silhouette of Ayaan in Asad's bedroom and decides to find out.
Badi decides to prevent Gaffur from making the declaration of Ayaan's engagement. Asad confirms that Feroze and Haseena are related, and that's why Feroze was tailing them.
Haseena calls off Imraan's engagement with Nikhat deeming it unsuitable because of Rashid's association with Asad. Later, Gaffur warns Dilshad to keep Asad away from Ayaan.
