The two brothers leave the mountain and come into contact with the human world for the first time in their life. In a tea house, they witness a fight between LIN and SUNG of Chau Shan School and Mr. White Fan of Hung Yip School‧ LIN plays it foul and kills Mr. White Fan. The two brothers fake blindness and escape death.
The two brothers come to become good friends of Zen master YUP TING who find them unworldly and ingenuous. One day, they ‧eat in a tea house. Not knowing that they have to pay for their food, they are being nagged by the shop owner, and only get themselves out of trouble with the help of LAU YAT KWUN. Nevertheless, they are by now rather disillusioned with the human world. Not knowing how to get money, they steal food in the market and are chased by a hawker. They meet WING who takes advantage of their light and plays tricks on them, causing them great embarrassment.
WING unintentionally spoils BIG BROTHER's fur, which is a gift from CHUNG. Seeing that he is heart-broken, WING feels apologetic. She says sorry to him, and they begin to be friends. WING falls for LITTLE BROTHER's handsome looks and clever ways and becomes overtly caring. WING has robbed insured goods under the care of Chun Yuen and is being pursued. MAN MIN begins his friendship with CHING LAM, the daughter of LOK TIN HANG, division head of Chau Shan School. At the same time, she is wooed by LAU LING, disciple of Virtuous Women's School‧ WING WING is abducted by a plain clothes man who has mistaken her to be the daughter of HAN HUNG. WING's parents FIVE POISON and FIVE GOBLIN come in time for her rescue. They urge her to go home and agree to give her five more days for helping MAN and MIN in their revenge. CHUN TO steals the jade of MOK YING and set off on revenge trip to get HAN HUNG. However, she is killed by LEE SAU and her jade taken away. MAN and KAU follow the plain clothes man in the hope to find out their birth secrets. They come across HUNG PA and CHING LAM who are searching for the script. They are found out by the plain clothes man. A fight starts.
MAN and KAU follow the plain clothes man to a hut thinking that their birth secrets will be made known. To their shock, there are only dead bodies lying around the place. It is actually the evil-doing of TIN HANG, who has by now secured the kung fu script from LEE SAU and has his follower TIT KWANG carry the script for him. TIN HANG holds a farewell party to announce his withdrawal from the world of martial art, so that he can concentrate on studying the script. MO is suspicious of TIN's crime. With the help of KAU, he successfully unearths the dead bodies. The crowd is shocked. TIN HANG claims innocence and urges the people to search his house for the script. MOK wants to interrogate TIN but flees himself when he sees CHING FONG.
KAU carries the badly-injured TIN and meet SAN PING. SAN learns the whereabouts of the script and kills TIN. SAN returns to the school and announces the death of TIN, much to the grief of CHING LAM. He puts the blame on MO and also accused of KAU to be an accomplice. He furthers his killings and put all the blame on KAU‧ KAU is now being pursued. Fortunately, he comes to become great friends of SO SO, the daughter of MO. SO risks her life to save KAU.
SAN PING ambushes TIT KWANG at Lok Hau Slope. He kills TIT's gang but fails to the script. During the fight, he kills two children, a monstrous crime which he blames on KAU. SAN captures .KAU and imprisons him in a cell‧ MAN come into contact with KAU and learns of his innocence. She promises to help him gain back his innocence. SAN PING tracks down TIT, kills him and finally secures the script. To put the blame on KAU, he releases him, so that other people can get him for his alleged crimes.
Weak and sick, KAU finds shelter in an old woman's hut. SAN and his men come to get KAU. In the chaos, the old woman is shot dead. KAU falls down a well. Beneath the well, a hermit YUEN FONG grabs KAU before he hits the ground. He teaches KAU kung fu so that he can beat his enemies. To make sure that KAU is dead, SAN sends his men down the well. They surprised to see KAU's kung fu. FONG YUEN departs and KAU is on his own again. He meets FIVE POISONS and FIVE GOBLINS, but both fail to extract the poisons in KAU's body. SO SO is worried about KAU's safety. She begs MO to let her search for him.
MAN learns of KAU's situation and plans to look for him together with CHING LAM. The other two girls LAU LING and WING WING volunteer to go with them. Finding the three women too much a burden, MAN postpones the plan. During a check-up by the medicine man, MAN is discovered to be a woman, to the shock of the whole school, and particularly to CHING LAM, who has come to love MAN as a man. HAN is suspicious of MAN's motives for impersonating as a man. At this point, MOK YING appears. She recognizes the Jade that MAN is carrying and announces that she is actually the daughter of HAN. HAN changes MAN MIN'$ name to MAN MAN.
MAN MAN has an unpleasant time trying to adapt to the life of a woman. She reminisces the old happy times when she was with KAU. HAN begs MOK YING to stay with him but is refused. CHING LAM nurses hatred against MAN for her misdeed. WING WING even contemplates suicide and is only dissuaded by Sen Master YUP TING. SAN PING learns that SO SO is out looking for KAU. He sends his ‧men out for her so as to beat her father MO. It turns out that MAN has taken SO back to the school without knowing that she is the so-called monstrous woman.
SAN becomes wary of MAN MAN for her good performance in getting so so. WING WING sneaks into the school at night wanting to kill MAN MAN in vain. Sen Master YUP TING comes her and spare her of the pursuit by people at Chau Shan School. KAU comes to Chau Shan to rescue the imprisoned So So. He mistaken MAN to be SO and grabs her instead. The two are happy to be reunited‧ MAN helps KAU to save SO but is discovered. The quick-witted MAN then pretends to have arrested KAU. She is quickly promoted to become the division head, to the dislike to SAN. CHING LAM has not overcome the anger and sadness that the real identity of MAN has caused‧ A servant sees her misery and consoles her. Friendship develops between the two.
MAN feels disarrayed to see So and Kau displaying intimate concern for each other in their imprisonment. KAU has not overcome the uneasiness is treating MAN as a woman. SAN comes to the prison to declare his love for So but is only sneered by her. Knowing that the people from Hung Yip School will come to rescue. So, HANG has the place set up in waiting. During the banquet that celebrates MAN's birthday, the Hung Yip School launches its attack. So is rescued. Both sides suffer losses during the fight. MO has got hold of MAN and wants to use her to threaten HANG. But KAU pleads for MAN and finally she escapes.
KAU arranges to send MO to Hung Yip School as undercover, with the help of So. So is deeply in love with KAU, who only treats her as a good friend. SAN lobbies the four big schools into forming an ally against Hung Yip School. MAN and KAU get together every now and then but never can get along naturally. SAN frames up Hung Yip School to make it appear that it is challenging the four big schools. Chau Shan School agrees to stand on the side of the four schools and wages war on Hung Yip School. HANG learns about SAN's plot and starts preparing for the fight.
SAN barges into Supreme Castle. He allies with MO and combat HUNG PA and the gang's attack. Not wanting to see HUNG PA becoming a captive, KAU rescues him from prison. Chau Shan School launches a major attack against Hung Yip School. Even CHING LAM joins the fighting. When MAN realizes it is a fight against KAU, she plays various tricks hoping to delay the attack. The two sides fight hard but neither were able to gain upper hand. MAN realizes her affection for KAU is more than brotherly feeling. But KAU still has trouble handling MAN's new identity as a woman. Both find their time together frustrating. SAN false fully turns to MO in order to find out more about Hung Yip School. At the same time, he plays the loyal follower in front of HANG to win his trust.
CHING LAM finally accepts the love of SWEEPER despite of his humble background. MAN tries to display her feminine qualities to KAU in order to win his love. SO witnesses it with apprehension. SAN secretly helps Hung Yip School attack Chau Shan School. Losing his fight, HUNG teaches the swordplay of Chau Shan School to SAN, only to have him control him subsequently. SO cherishes deep affection for KAU, who only treats her as a sister. MOK YING decides to become a nun. She meets HANG and MO and attempts to persuade the two to reconcile. To her disappointment, they turn a deaf ear to her plea.
To stir up trouble, SAN instigates KAU to elope with MAN. MO blames KAU for allying with the enemy and would have punished him if not for the plea of SO. KAU sends away MAN sadly. Wanting to reign supreme, MO sends KAU to attack Chau Shan School. KAU does not want to harm MAN arid infuriates MO for refusing to go. SAN tries to woo SO she remains cold to him. CHING LAM goes steady with SWEEPER and promises to go back to his homeland with him. SAN gradually rises above HANG with more members vowing allegiance to him . HANG realizes SAN's ambition but is too late.

YUEN YEE is deeply devoted to SAN, but she is at best the substitute of So, to whom SAN adores. SAN uses the force of Chau Shan School and successfully launches an attack against MO, who flees in defeat. SAN conquers the entire world of martial art. He uses brutal means to crackdown those who rise against him.
SAN cannot forget about the Kung Fu script. He holds MAN hostage and forces KAU to surrender the jade to him. KAU agrees to do whatever it is in order to save MAN. But when he mistaken that MAN has been kill, he jumps down the well in great sorrow. KAU meets MAN below the well. Overwhelmed with genuine affection for each other, they declare their love for each other‧ YUEN YEE infuriates SAN with her obsessed devotion. SAN confesses that he has never liked her. Subsequently he even beat her to death‧ SAN forces SO to yield to him‧ SO rejects him vehemently, which only arouses him further with the desire to possess her. SAN reigns like an obnoxious ruler.
